The Forest Bug is a species of shield bug living in forests and woodlands.
This insect is a consumer of tree sap and uses piercing mouthparts to withdraw the liquid, mainly out of oaks but alder, hazel, apple- and cherry trees are also used.
Its body colour is a good camouflage while having dinner on a tree bark, as you can see in the picture.
