The Middle Ages (114) : Silk trader

Description

This series is an attempt to illustrate how life was going on in the Middle Ages.

***

In the 13th century, the great Mongol empire of the warrior Genghis Khan stretched from what is now China and Russia to the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

In that time, the first trade missions were started up and goods were being traded along the silk road from Mongolia and China all the way to western kingdoms.

My picture shows a mysterious trader, who travelled regularly between the Mongol empire and the west, while trying to sell the expensive silk fabrics on royal courts.
Watch his poker face…….
