‘Maison Maraite’

This timber framed house was originally built in 1592.
It is probably the oldest dwelling house of Belgium and is still inhabited !

There’s not much known about the history of the house, but it is believed that this was the accommodation for the servants and staff of a former, no longer existing, castle in the neighbourhood.
