Bleeding heart is a popular garden plant with drooping bright fuchsia-pink flowers.
This species is native to wet forests of Siberia, northern China, Korea & Japan and the first specimens were introduced into European gardens in 1840.
The flowers strikingly resemble the conventional heart shape, with a droplet beneath (hence its name).
Dutch name : Gebroken hartje (ook Tranend hartje genoemd)
