When I made this shot, the light conditions were very poor and a soft drizzle was going on, but it’s the first time I saw a Common Redpoll in the wild. So, I did not hesitate.
The Common Redpoll with its characteristic red forehead belongs to the finch family.
It’s a typical inhabitant of the tundra regions of Europe and northern America, but also an irregular winter migrant to western Europe.
