This wildlife shot of a wolf was taken in a deep remote part of a forest, somewhere in Belgium.

The making of :
Taking a picture of a wolf in the wild had long been a (hard-to-realise) dream of mine. Thanks to a lot of help from a friendly local forester, I finally succeeded. Without him, it would not have been possible. His only condition was that I should never make the location public.
Based on images from mounted wildlife cameras, the forester knew very well the place where a wolf came to rest now and then after a night of roaming and hunting. From a deeply burrowed and heavily camouflaged hideout, I was able to take this photo with 1200mm as focal length (600mm + 2X extender).
During the years 2021, 2022 and 2023, the forester and I waited in the hide many times in the early morning hours, but always without success. Until recently..... :-))
Too bad the mist made photography a lot more difficult, but then again the advantage was that we were even better camouflaged.
