The Living Forest (99) : Common Snowberry

Description

Common Snowberry is a deciduous shrub, native of North and Central America.
In the forest, its white fruit is an important winter food source for quail and pheasant, but is considered poisonous to humans.
When the white berries are broken open, the fruit inside looks like fine, sparkling granular snow (hence its name).
