The Fungi World (320) : Ringless Honey Fungus

Description

There exist several distinct species of honey fungi and nearly all of them have a ring on their stem (as you can see in my pictures below), but this one here does not (hence its name).

The ringless honey fungus is a pretty rare species between the end of summer and late autumn and pops up quickly, from zero to maximum height during only one night.

Dutch name : Ongeringde honingzwam
German name : Ringloser Hallimasch
Latin name : Armillaria tabescens
