The Fungi World (354) : White Saddle

Description

White saddle is an astonishing dog-bone-shaped fungus with a pleasant aroma that likes to grow in damp deciduous forests.

Some of you might think this fungus is deformed or in the very last stage of its life.
Not so. What you see here is the normal mature stage of the white saddle.

Dutch name : Witte Kluifzwam
German name : Herbstlorchel
Latin name : Helvella crispa

***

This is my last fungus shot of the 2017 autumn, which was a good fungi season :-))
I hope you all enjoyed the pictures of the fascinating fungi world as much as I did when I found and shot them all.
