Description

The bell-shaped burgundydropbonnet (also known as ‘bleeding fairy helmet’ or ‘bleeding mycena’) appears always in small clusters on decaying stumps of deciduous trees, particularly beech.

When the flesh of this fungus is damaged, a dark blood-red juice comes out.
