L’ETERNO SPETTACOLO è la rappresentazione della vita che scorre ogni giorno tra gli scenari barocchi dei vecchi mercati di Palermo: Ballarò, Capo, Vucciria e Fieravecchia. È uno spettacolo costituito dai volti della gente, dalle piramidi di frutta, dal pesce accudito con la stessa cura riservata a un bambino in fasce, che ripete gesti e riti le cui origini si perdono nel tempo, ma anche capace, ogni giorno, di rinnovarsi, attingendo linfa vitale dalla tenace resistenza degli antichi bottegai e fruttivendoli e dalla vivacità dei nuovi arrivati, in prevalenza extracomunitari.
Nonostante il loro stato precario questi luoghi irretiscono ancora il visitatore con sensazioni uniche, offrendo, come ultimo regalo, immagini che già appartengono al passato.
L’ebook, di 228 pagine, è costituito da testi informativi e di cronaca, fotografie a tema e di avvenimenti che si sono svolti nella cornice dei mercati, oltre a un’ampia sezione documentaria con planimetrie e schede descrittive dei monumenti e dei principali edifici.


THE ETERNAL SHOW is the representation of the daily passing of life in the baroque scenarios of the old markets in Palermo: Ballarò, Capo, Vucciria and Fieravecchia. It’s a show made up of the faces of the people, of the pyrimads of fruit, of the fish cared with the same care given to a child in swaddling clothes. It’s a background that repeats gestures and rituals lost in the time, but able to renew everyday, thanks to the lifeblood of the ancient shopkeepers and greengrocers and to the brightness of the news, especially immigrants. Despite their precarious state, these places still ensnare the visitor with unique feelings, offering, as a last gift, images that already belong to the past.
The ebook, 228 pages, consists of informational texts and news, photographs of events that took place in the frame of the markets, as well as a large documentary section with plans and descriptions of monuments and main buildings.
