Winter hike on the heathland (1)

Last week we had a few cold frosty days with plenty of sunshine.
Ideal to make a winter hike on the ‘Kalmthoutse Heide’, even without snow.

The ‘Kalmthoutse Heide’ is one of the greatest National Parks of Belgium with many fens, heathland, inland dunes and vast forests.

I made a small series of this unique biotope.
In this first shot, one can see that the non-sunlit areas are still frozen white, resulting in a beautiful contrast with the yellowed moor grasses.
