Last weeks I was exploring several forests in the Belgian Ardennes.
This is the 7th. picture of a series illustrating the living forest.
House sparrows generally live in the neighbourhood of human settlements, but i discovered this specimen at the edge of the forest.
In large parts of Europe, populations of House sparrows are decreasing. The population has dropped in half since the 1980s !

German name : Haussperling (auch Spatz genannt)
Latin name : Passer domesticus
